Friends of the Community Hall
The Friends of the Govan community Hall Inc. would like to invite you to be a part of the renewal process for the Govan Community Hall.
I'm sure all of you can remember at least one time in the Hall with fondness, and I know these walls would have stories to tell if they could talk.
The Hall has made it to that age where it needs a little tender loving care in order to provide a place to create memories.
Our group has put together a plan that will help make the Hall self sufficient in three years but we need your help to bring back some of it's original splendor.
One of the first items on our list is to replace the furnace with one that is more efficient, thereby reducing the winter heating costs. The next item on our list is to refinish the hardwood dance floor. It's in surprisingly good shape yet, but needs to be sanded down and varnished in order to be maintained. Other things that we will be looking at doing are putting in wheel chair ramps, upgrading the electrical system, as will as a variety of other smaller items.
We will be applying for grants, but the renovations are going to cost more than we are able to raise by grants alone. One of our many functions is our monthly Jam Sessions; held the second Sunday of each month from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Come and Join the Fun!

Jamming on a Sunday afternoon
Jamming on a Sunday afternoon is held every second Sunday of each month. It starts at 2:00pm and ends at 5:00pm.
There are Door Prizes, 50/50 draw and a cash bar.
Admission is $3.00
Don't forget to bring you dancing shoes and/or your favorite instruments!

$75.00 - Upstairs and Downstairs
Note: A refundable deposit is required.
